Sustainability in engineering: EnOcean inspires girls on Girls’ Day
EnOcean in Oberhaching near Munich is proud to participate in this year’s Girls’ Day on April 25, 2024 with the theme “A day in sustainable engineering”. This future-oriented event aims to inspire girls by providing insights into technical professions and encouraging them to pursue training, studies, or careers in engineering. EnOcean, has a long-standing commitment to this initiative and offers interested students internships and working student positions in various technical fields.
Hands-On experience with sustainable technology and the Internet of Things (IoT)
At EnOcean, we focus on developing sustainable solutions for global megatrends: energy efficiency, space optimization, and wellbeing. Our goal is to significantly reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions through innovative IoT technologies and energy harvesting techniques. To make sustainability tangible for Girls’ Day participants, we’ve designed practical, hands-on activities:
- Assembly of a batteryless and wireless light switch
- Exploring energy generation from lemons, apples and potatoes
- Gain insights into the development and production of maintenance-free wireless switches and sensors during an introduction and a barrier-free tour
- Learn how cloud-based data and IoT solutions contribute to the sustainability of buildings and the well-being of their users
Promoting young talent in sustainable technologies
EnOcean is offering ten girls the opportunity to participate in this year’s Girls’ Day, continuing our commitment to promoting young talent free from gender stereotypes. Participants will gain valuable insights into:
- The working and international corporate culture at EnOcean
- The team spirit in the company
- Our passion and enthusiasm as a driver of innovation with a focus on sustainability
