At booth #754, EnOcean will be demonstrating its wireless Easyfit LED controls for LED lighting control using various open standards. Easyfit enables simple commissioning, intelligent local control, and seamless integration with building automation system
Salt Lake City, UT/Chicago, IL – April 24, 2018
At Lightfair 2018 (Chicago, IL, May 8-10, 2018), EnOcean, world leader in energy harvesting wireless technology, will present its comprehensive wireless and self-powered LED controls for various open standards under the brand Easyfit. Easyfit products are self-powered switches and sensors that use wireless standards such as EnOcean and Bluetooth® to make LED lighting solutions more energy-efficient, more flexible and lower in cost. At booth #754, visitors can experience lighting systems using the EnOcean radio standard, including DLC-qualified self-powered sensors and switches, relays, LED fixture controllers as well as a commissioning tool. EnOcean customers across the US are now free to pursue retrofit and new projects that may qualify for higher utility rebates with DLC qualification, all without using batteries in their wireless installations. Additionally, the company will be presenting wireless and self-powered solutions for Bluetooth® and Zigbee lighting systems. Offering these maintenance-free, ready-to-use solutions, EnOcean’s OEM customers are able to focus on the quickly evolving LED market opportunities.
Self-powered wireless Easyfit LED controls from EnOcean are included in the DLC Qualified Product List (QPL). Easyfit controls based on EnOcean wireless standard are rapidly expanding their deployments in schools, offices, big box and warehouse applications. This recognition by DLC is further confirmation of the cutting edge, highly efficient capabilities of self-powered wireless Easyfit controls.
EnOcean wireless technology is optimized for ultra-low power communication, allowing for the self-powered sensors and switches. One version of the Easyfit LED controls portfolio is based on the 902 MHz frequency, which delivers maximum point-to-point communication distances within buildings. These wireless control solutions can be easily added to existing buildings during an upgrade to LED lighting and enable sophisticated lighting control including daylight harvesting and task tuning.
The complete LED control portfolio consists of LEDRU and LEDDU Fixture/Zone Controllers, self-powered, wireless light switches, occupancy and light level sensors as well as the Navigan™ remote commissioning software. These solutions enable simple configuration, intelligent local control, and seamless integration with building automation systems using the EnOcean wireless standard. Controls and lighting manufacturers can also create EnOcean-enabled products by using the extensive line of Dolphin RF modules and EnOcean-enabled LED drivers.
“Easyfit Controls coupled with LEDs allow facility managers to utilize room level or networked controls, even connecting the LEDs to existing Building Automation Systems, with significantly reduced installation time and costs,” said Troy Davis, Sales Director, EnOcean Inc. “EnOcean now enables product manufacturers to unlock the full potential of LEDs with simple, easy to install, maintenance-free tools that offer personal control and energy conservation. It is also quite possible to do an entire wireless installation and not use a single battery.”
The Easyfit product line is supported by Navigan™ Software, which has already proven itself successfully in various high profile projects. Via the Navigan™ commissioning interface, settings such as thresholds, dimming levels, ramp speeds, task tuning, timers or Title 24-compliant parameters can be changed wirelessly. With Navigan™ remote commissioning tool, an installer can locate wireless devices throughout the facility, logically connect the controller to switches and sensors, and configure settings in the controller over the air – completely without physical access to the controllers, saving time and costs.
More information on Navigan™ can be found at www.navigan.com. Installers can find tutorial videos showing the tool’s functionalities at www.navigan.com/support.
EnOcean also offers wireless and self-powered LED controls for Bluetooth® lighting control systems in 2.4 GHz. The self-powered and wireless Easyfit Bluetooth® switches with Near Field Communication (NFC) allow simple or complex lighting scenes and effects, and enable simple, flexible installation of lighting applications. The wireless Easyfit Bluetooth® switches are maintenance-free due to no batteries, freely positionable and allow flexible control as well as intuitive usage.
Easyfit Bluetooth® switches are compatible with various solutions from leading LED lighting manufacturers and have already been installed in hundreds of buildings. Combined with Bluetooth® lighting systems from Casambi (IoT Pavilion, booth #131), Silvair (Intelligent Lighting Pavilion, booth #1027), Xicato, Wirepas (IoT Pavilion, booth #112), Helvar and Enlighted (Intelligent Lighting Pavilion, booth #412), Easyfit wall switches offer lighting installers the benefits of maintenance-free, freely easily positionable and ready-to-use solutions, allowing flexible control as well as intuitive usage.
EnOcean partnered with Philips, a world leading manufacturer of lighting applications, to develop self-powered lighting solutions for Zigbee systems on the 2.4 GHz band for use in consumer and commercial LED lighting systems. The Philip´s Hue tap switch, for example, is a self-powered wireless switch, which is the ideal flexible, maintenance-free control for the Philips Hue lighting system for LED consumer lighting. As part of the Philips Friends of Hue program, several lighting control manufacturers have already launched various switch designs based on energy harvesting technology from EnOcean.
Easyfit is a brand of EnOcean GmbH, the developer of the patented energy harvesting wireless technology.
